Winter car electrical appliances maintenance knowledge, strengthen battery insulation

After entering the winter, the temperature is decreasing day by day, and the various electrical equipment on the car should be ready for the winter. Take a look at what the following electrical appliances should pay attention to in winter maintenance.

(1) Check and adjust the electrolyte density. The density of the electrolyte can be adjusted appropriately to prevent the accident of the battery case freezing and cracking due to the electrolyte density being too low.

(2) Strengthen the insulation of the battery. In order to prevent the storage battery from freezing and affecting the starting performance, a sandwich insulation battery box can be made for the storage battery in winter to increase the storage battery temperature.

(3) Increase the generator charging voltage. Due to the large discharge capacity of the battery at low temperatures, the charge of the generator must be increased, and the limit voltage of the regulator can be appropriately increased. In general, the limit voltage of the regulator in winter is 0.6V higher than that in summer.

(4) Maintenance and start the motor. It is difficult to start the engine in winter, and the number of starting motors is frequently used. If the power of the starter is insufficient, it will further increase the difficulty of starting the engine. Practice has shown that in the summer, if the starter is slightly faulty and the power is slightly insufficient, it may be smooth to start the engine, but in winter, it will become very difficult to start, or even unable to start. Therefore, the starter should be maintained once to the end, keeping all parts of the starter clean and dry, especially the contact between the brush and the commutator should be good.
